Dave Anctil, philosopher, on the co-evolution of technology and humanity

We invite you to join us on Friday, June 16, starting at 1:30 p.m. online, for an interview with philosopher Dave Anctil, moderated by Monique Chartrand. This discussion will focus on the importance of the Fab City movement in helping to create a future where citizens meet their needs and desires by taking advantage of the benefits of a digital territory mediated by increasingly agile technologies, while preserving the well-being of the biosphere.

Dave Anctil holds a PhD in political philosophy, and teaches philosophy and artificial intelligence (AI) at Collège Jean-de-Brébeuf in Montreal. His areas of expertise are ethics, politics, social robotics and the cognitive sciences of AI.

He is an affiliated researcher at the Observatoire sur les impacts sociétaux de l’intelligence artificielle et du numérique OBVIA, Université Laval, Québec. He works on the democratisation of AI and robotics, and the integration of these fields into the human sciences.

With Simon Dubé, he has developed a research program in technosexuality and erobotics, the study of intimate relations between humans and digital technologies.
